Illinois EPA Sponsors Low Rate Loans for Municipal Water Projects

Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant - TWM Engineering

July 2017 – The Illinois EPA is offering wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water loans to public or private applicants as part of the Illinois Clean Water Initiative (CWI). These low-interest loans are provided through the State Revolving Fund (SRF), and can be used for the design and construction of a variety of projects that protect or improve Illinois’ water resources.

The CWI includes two loan programs:

  • The Water Pollution Control Loan Program (WPCLP) for wastewater and stormwater projects.
  • The Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP) for drinking water projects.

Loans with rates as low as 1.76% fixed will be granted between now and June 30, 2018 to qualified applicants.
