Business Park Planning for Rock City
LOCATION: Valmeyer, IL
CLIENT: Admiral Parkway, Inc.
Business park planning was a necessary component to properly design Rock City, an underground business park in Valmeyer, IL. TWM helped developers with the master planning and engineering designs from the beginning. This unique business development, located inside the old limestone mines under the Village of Valmeyer, utilizes the mine’s cool 55 degree year round temperatures to bring energy efficiency to record levels for tenants.
This business park was a monumental undertaking. Phase I alone encompassed 1,000,000 square feet of commercial and warehouse space. Among other tenants, Rock City is home to the National Archives National Personnel Records Center where TWM used 3D laser scanning to survey and model the mine’s interior. The collected data facilitated a 75,000 sq. ft. expansion known as Annex II and resulted in TWM winning the ACEC-IL 40th Annual Engineering Excellence Award in “Surveying & Mapping Technology.”
We have worked on many phases of this project. Currently we are providing services for their addition of the Sunbasket annex.
