IL Route 15 and South 17th Street Intersection
LOCATION: City of Belleville, IL
CLIENT: City of Belleville, IL
CONSTRUCTION COST: $1,300,000
TWM designed and provided construction observation for the extension of South 17th Street as a three-lane minor arterial in Belleville, Illinois. The roadway carries traffic southward and westward to intersect with Frank Scott Parkway West at the site of the new campus for Belleville Township High School West. But the new roadway design also intersected IL Route 15, a four-lane divided highway, creating a very desirable commercial location. TWM was instrumental in securing permits to allow the creation of that intersection on a highway where such access was fairly restricted.
Two long-time Belleville car dealerships were then able to relocate to the new intersection, meeting requirements of their respective automotive lines to build within higher traffic corridors, without having to move from the City. TWM not only designed the intersection, it designed the commercial sites for both dealerships. With extensive experience in both transportation and commercial site design, when a project calls for roadway modifications in support of new development, TWM has the knowledge, skills, experience and insight to efficiently do the job.
