Project Description

Retaining Wall & Temporary Slab Shoring for Wellington Avenue Bridge

As part of a Value Engineering project, TWM redesigned a retaining wall using a Redi-Rock large block MSE wall. This eliminated the need for expensive lightweight backfill instead of the original cast-in-place reinforced concrete wall on deep drilled shafts with lightweight fill.  A 24” diameter Laclede Gas main was mounted to the new MSE retaining wall.

TWM also performed construction phase engineering services for the temporary slab shoring for the construction of the new Wellington Avenue bridge.
