FEATURED PROJECT: Western Illinois University Student Rec Center Addition TWM is providing the civil engineering and structural engineering under contract to architect Hastings & Chivetta for this addition to the Donald H. Spencer Student Recreation Center at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Since its construction in 1997, the rec center has experienced increased levels of usage by students, faculty and staff. The university decided to construct the addition to accommodate the current usage level and to allow for future growth. The project includes building an addition to the south of the current facility, which will house two new basketball courts and an extended running track. The current weight room will be expanded into an existing basketball court. The entire facility will be air-conditioned.
