FEATURED PROJECT: Ellipsoidal   Elevated Water Tower, Troy, IL

TWM provided civil and structural engineering services for the re-engineering of this existing 0.5-million gallon elevated water tower in Troy, Illinois. Original designs for the water tower placed it too low to provide adequate pressure for the rapidly growing City of Troy. While standard engineering practices might have simply replaced the inadequate tower, TWM engineers came up with a more innovative approach.

The water tower was raised 35 feet to accommodate a new, higher support system, thereby increasing water pressure to the city residents. Though the final cost of the re-engineering project totaled nearly $330,000, the innovative solution by TWM engineers saved the City of Troy $420,000 and minimized service disruption. The tower was back in working order in two days.
