Fort Leonard Wood contained a substantial amount of asbestos cement water main originally installed in the 1960s and implemented a program for replacement. In this first phase of the project, TWM designed approximately 21,000’ of PVC water main to replace the asbestos cement mains. In addition to water main design, project included coordination with a number of utilities and including provisions to avoid historically significant areas near the proposed construction site. In addition, trenchless excavation was needed under multiple areas to avoid impacts to critical roadways within the Fort.
