3D laser scanning for bridges is one of the many geospatial services TWM’s Survey Department offers to clients. On this project, MoDOT wanted to assess the structural integrity of the underside of the MLK Bridge, so TWM was requested to collect information on the bearing plates. The crew was able to scan the plates from a safe distance on the ground and then the 3D scanning technicians were able to model the plates to provide a comparison between their current and initial states. During remediation of the plates, TWM was also able to assist in other conventional surveying and layout for the client.
