Park engineering services were provided by TWM for Granby Park’s outdated facilities, drainage issues, and noncompliant amenities. This was Fairmont City’s sole park, and it was in dire need of some improvements. TWM’s new designs for the baseball field included new lighting, backstop, dugouts, bleachers, fencing, and poles, resolving drainage issues by raising the field nearly 2’. Plans were also completed for a new sand volleyball court with a second set of bleachers as well as a new soccer field with moveable goals, wheels, and nets. In addition to sports improvements, other amenities included ADA-compliant restroom renovations, drinking fountains, and a new walking trail around the park’s perimeter. While TWM also helped secure grants to offset Village costs, a state freeze of grant funding caused portions of the project to be delayed, even after volunteers stepped in to assist with labor. Despite these setbacks, Granby Park—once a dilapidated space—is now an active community resource.
