Pedestrian Crosswalk Study in Marion
A pedestrian crosswalk study is currently underway at IL Route 13 (DeYoung Street) near the city park in Marion. Our team will be evaluating and studying the feasibility of different pedestrian crossing options. The five-lane highway is crossed regularly by little leaguers, pool attendees, and other park patrons who cross the highway to buy snacks and concessions from the convenience store located on the other side of the highway. TWM will study the possibilities of a pedestrian tunnel, pedestrian bridge and/or at-grade crossing improvements such as flashing beacons or other advance warning systems to alleviate this issue.
