TWM was contracted to provide construction layout for the new Primate Habitats and Canopy Trails. While initial layout only included the layout of a few individual piers to assist the contractor in construction, TWM quickly played a major role in various aspects of the project.

  • Established control for the entire project referenced to the St. Louis Zoo coordinate system. TWM established additional control, referenced to existing monuments on site, with cross ties and adjusted using a properly weighted least squares adjustment. This control was used by the contractor throughout the duration of the project.
  • TWM performed 3D Scanning on existing trees (that were to remain) and modeled the proposed primate enclosure to show contractor which limbs would need to be trimmed prior to erecting / constructing the proposed canopy.
