3D LASER SCANNING/TERRESTRIAL LIDAR
By using 3D scanning LiDAR technology and modeling toolkits, TWM can help design professionals save time, increase revenue, minimize risk, and correct conflicts prior to construction.
WHAT WE DO
3D scanning is ideal for a wide variety of projects, especially on those where traditional surveying methods would be impractical. This specialized surveying tool can provide a high-definition laser scan of a building interior/exterior, HVAC system, bridge, or highway in a fraction of the time of conventional methods. In just a matter of hours, millions of x, y, and z data points are collected and then used to model and dimension critical components.
TWM’s technicians then use these data points to develop a 3D computer model, which can be manipulated with the software, viewed from any angle, and exported to traditional CAD software for analysis and rendering or to make precise measurements and calculations.
Deliverables
Results can be delivered in many formats, including Point Clouds (color-based intensity or true color), 3D models, 2D or 3D AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings, BIM applications, Revit applications, or Trueview Plugin for Internet Explorer.Deliverables
Applications
The measurement data is used to support real-time decision making, which can help keep a project on time and within budget. 3D scanning can be used in a variety of applications, such as interiors and exteriors – above and below ground, irregular service areas, railroads, volume calculations, and transportation/traffic.Applications
Techniques
Our team has extensive experience applying high-definition 3D scanning technology to projects. On some of our recent projects, we have surveyed mechanical equipment within utility buildings, intricate piping, anchor bolts and columns, and the interior of a limestone mine/cave being converted to a climate-controlled storage facility.Techniques

Accelerate the Surveying Process with 3D Laser Scanning/Terrestrial LiDAR
Reliable. Robust. Rapid. The measurement data from reality capture tools is used to support real-time decision-making, which can help keep a project on time and within budget. Precise measurements and calculations for design, planning, or analysis can be available at your fingertips and ready for export to numerous platforms. TWM has the resources to collect highly detailed site conditions and capture data on almost any project. In addition to high-definition 3D laser scanning/terrestrial LiDAR for precision data, our firm uses other state-of-the-art equipment such as mobile LiDAR to collect data at highway speeds and UAVs for aerial LiDAR photogrammetry/imaging.
