May 2021 -2021 marks the 75^th anniversary for Thouvenot, Wade & Moerchen, Inc. (TWM). One of the top engineering and land survey/geospatial firms in greater St. Louis, TWM serves clients across the U.S. Year-long festivities and plans to observe the occasion will feature client appreciation, employee recognition, community involvement and a vision for the future.

TWM’s roots date back to 1946 – the year engineer and land surveyor A. Yorker Wade founded Wade Engineering Company in Belleville, IL. Yorker Wade sold the firm to his son Jerry and another surveyor, Bill Moerchen. Rollie Thouvenot, the younger brother of Bill’s wife, started working for the firm as a teen and eventually became president, serving in that role from 1987 through 2017. The firm was incorporated in 1978 under the names of those three founders. In 2003, TWM began an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and in 2017 became 100% ESOP-owned.

From humble beginnings, TWM has grown to the firm it is today, with corporate headquarters in Swansea, IL and seven additional offices in metro St. Louis, Peoria, IL, Columbia, MO, and Franklin, TN. Since its establishment, TWM has remained focused on its core services and steadily invested in evolving tools and technologies. “While there are always challenges, TWM has made great achievements and has grown exponentially during the past 75 years. Ensuring our financial stability while continuing to move the business forward and support our professional growth has remained constant throughout our more than seven decades in business,” said Rob DeConcini, President.

A high level of client-focused relationships has been key to the company’s success, largely due to the long-term service and commitment of its employees. On reaching this milestone, Rollie Thouvenot, current Chairman of the Board, stated, “TWM has a proud history and solid reputation for building loyal and trusted relationships with the clients we serve. We still have employees who have been with the firm for 25+ years. Getting the job done right and standing behind our work has been our guiding principle for 75 years and we expect that same purpose to lead us into the future.”

Today, the business employs 120 professionals and is continuing to explore new growth and expansion opportunities.
