Oct 2018 – On October 5-6, the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Chili Cook-off. Over the last 30 years, this event has grown from just a few chili enthusiasts, to more than 60 vendors, and is one of the largest festivals in Belleville. It features various chili concoctions from individuals, local organizations, and local area businesses. Other event attractions include local bands and musicians, beer stands, a 5K run, kids entertainment, and souvenir booths. TWM participates each year by donating our time to work at one of the beer stands.

Many attendees don’t realize this event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for many non-profit organizations. Over half of the vendors participating at the Chili Cook-off each year are either non-profit organizations or businesses raising money for charities.

One of the most popular festival events involves attendees voting in the People’s Choice contest for their favorite chili. It costs $1 to vote, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Community Interfaith Food Pantry in Belleville.
