The St. Louis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be designing and constructing a new 1,200’ pile-founded lock in the auxiliary miter gate bay, a 1,200’ upstream approach wall, and a 650’ downstream approach wall to replace the existing 600’ long guidewall. This project will also include relocation and site-specific environmental mitigation work. In order to complete the design and construction, TWM performed a comprehensive topographic survey of the entire site. This includes aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry, mobile and terrestrial LiDAR, and hydrographic surveying as well as conventional surveying techniques.
